Changelooms

The Changelooms project stands out as a distinctive initiative aimed at empowering youth to conceptualize and implement ideas that combat climate change. Through this project, young individuals are provided with opportunities to enact meaningful changes in society. ComMutiny - The Youth Collective collaborated with WildTales for executing this project. Project commenced from Jan 2024 with the first batch of young changeloomers. Our role in this endeavor is to equip them with the necessary knowledge and support to execute their ideas effectively. We serve as mentors, offering guidance and assistance throughout their journey, ensuring they are well-prepared to make a positive impact on the environment and society.
Project Green Goal
Project Green Goal, in collaboration with Bridgestone India, stands as a comprehensive initiative for biodiversity conservation and environmental education. A key focus of this phase involves managing and nurturing the butterfly garden developed within company premises, while also extending efforts to create butterfly gardens in nearby villages and government schools. These vibrant habitats foster pollinators and contribute to enhancing local biodiversity.
The project further engages young minds through dynamic nature education programs under eco clubs, inspiring students to build a meaningful connection with the environment and adopt eco-conscious practices. Additionally, we are developing Village Biodiversity Registers to document local flora and fauna, empowering communities with the knowledge to appreciate and protect their natural heritage. Through these endeavors, Project Green Goal Phase continues to create a lasting impact, driving community engagement and biodiversity conservation.
Located at Gandhisagar Forest Retreat near Neemach, this project is a dynamic initiative with two complementary aspects: butterfly garden development and a specialized Butterfly Ecology Course for Naturalists.
The garden development focuses on creating a vibrant, pollinator-friendly habitat enriched with nectar and host plants to support diverse butterfly species. By fostering such a habitat, the project aims to enhance local biodiversity while offering visitors an enchanting experience immersed in nature's beauty.
The Butterfly Ecology Course equips stationed naturalists and ground staff with detailed insights on butterfly species, behavior, and conservation strategies. Through interactive workshops and guided field sessions, naturalists gained hands-on experience and a deeper appreciation of butterflies ecological roles as pollinators and bioindicators.
Together, these efforts blend habitat restoration with environmental education, promoting conservation and community engagement at this stunning forest retreat.
Our project embarks on a captivating journey through the rich tapestry of avian life in the historic Mehrauli region. With a blend of cutting-edge monitoring techniques and a deep reverence for nature, we are meticulously documenting birds by capturing stunning high-resolution photographs and gathering comprehensive data on each species sighted. This curated collection of images and information will form the cornerstone of an exquisite coffee table book that not only celebrates the breathtaking beauty and diversity of Mehrauli's birds but also serves as a powerful medium for conservation and environmental awareness.
The book aims to weave together science and art, presenting detailed species profiles alongside engaging narratives that highlight the ecological roles these birds play in maintaining a balanced ecosystem. By bringing to light the subtle interconnections between the region’s historical legacy and its natural heritage, we aspire to inspire both local communities and global audiences to embrace conservation efforts. Ultimately, this project is more than just a visual delight it is a call to action, inviting readers to rediscover their bond with nature and contribute to the preservation of one of the most enchanting urban landscapes.
