Sohail Madan has been an exceptional mentor to me. His profound knowledge and passion for ecology have been truly inspiring. Working alongside him, I have gained invaluable insights into the intricate balance of our natural world. His dedication to his field is unparalleled, and his ability to convey complex ecological concepts in an understandable manner is commendable. Sohail is not just an amazing mentor, but also an incredible person. His kindness, patience, and genuine care for both his students and the environment are qualities that make him stand out. WildTales: It has been spectacular working with Sohail and his company- The WildTales. I work with ComMutiny and vartaLeap. We were introduced to Sohail in 2023. The first meeting opened up a sea of possibilities for us. The way Sohail embraced the world of young people by completely immersing himself to all the nuances was a treat to watch. The passion and zeal to build a world that prioritises life and ecology was visible in every interaction we had. We are honoured to have partnered with Sohail and WildTales to inspire and work with young changemakers and social entrepreneurs in building climate positive communities across India. Their expertise in bringing in a unique lens to look at and engage with bio-diversity, climate issues, easy to adopt frameworks and pathways; blend of theoretical and actionable approaches has been a true valued add to the youth work practice. Our program Changelooms has shaped up to be a powerful experience for young entrepreneurs because of WildTales’s consistent, immersive and innovative way of building their capacities. It is super fun, extraordinarily real, full of life and extremely elevating to work with them.

Plants are the basis of most ecosystems. And Sohail knows his plants. By making effective links between native plant communities and pollinators, Sohail has been able to rewild and restore places that everyone else has given up on. He often speaks up for the most neglected, but also most crucial – moths, dragonflies and thorny, wild looking plants that don’t make it to landscaping. As a skilled educator, he is bringing back the neglected into the mainstream consciousness.
